quarter cup Yellow moong dal
quarter cup Red lentil
quarter cup Urad dal
quarter cup Chana dal
half cup Rice
1 teaspoon Sugar
Water as per needed

Adjust the consistency of the batter by adding water gradually.
For added flavor, you can mix finely chopped vegetables into the batter before cooking.
Use a non-stick appe tawa to reduce the amount of oil required for cooking.

Directions
Rinse 0.25 cup yellow moong dal, 0.25 cup red lentil (masoor dal), 0.25 cup urad dal, 0.25 cup chana dal, and 0.50 cup rice together thoroughly 3-4 times.
Soak the mixture in water for 7-8 hours.
Strain the soaked ingredients.
Grind them into a smooth batter, adding 1 tsp of sugar.
Allow the batter to ferment for 8-10 hours.
After fermentation, mix the batter well.
Add salt to taste and adjust the consistency with water if necessary; it should be similar to idli batter.
Heat an appe tawa (pan) and spray some oil to grease it.
Pour the batter into the appe moulds.
Cook until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
Serve hot with chutney or sambhar.
This recipe yields approximately 30 appe.

Individuals with kidney issues should moderate their intake of dals due to their high protein content.
Avoid excessive consumption if you have a history of gout or other uric acid-related issues.
