Ingredients
2
1 cup Green moong dal
1 cup Bottle gourd - lauki, Shredded
1 piece Onion, Chopped
2 pieces Green chilies, Chopped
2 tbsp Coriander leaves, Chopped
1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
Salt as per taste
Oil as per taste
Tips
Soak green moong dal for at least 4 hours or overnight for better texture.
Adjust the quantity of green chilies according to your spice preference.
Ensure the batter consistency is neither too thick nor too runny for perfect chillas.
Directions
Soak the green moong dal in water for 4 hours or overnight. Drain the water and rinse the dal thoroughly.
In a blender, add the soaked green moong dal along with chopped green chilies and cumin seeds. Grind into a smooth batter, adding a little water if needed.
Transfer the batter into a mixing bowl. Add grated bottle gourd, chopped onion, coriander leaves, and salt. Mix well to combine all ingredients evenly.
Heat a non-stick skillet or tawa over medium heat. Grease it lightly with oil.
Pour a ladleful of batter onto the skillet and spread it gently to form a thin circle.
Drizzle a little oil around the edges of the chilla. Cook until the bottom side turns golden brown.
Flip the chilla carefully using a spatula and cook the other side until golden brown.
Repeat the process with the remaining batter to make more chillas.
