50 grams Kokam(garcinia indica)
half liter Water
100 grams Jaggery
1 teaspoon Roasted cumin powder
half teaspoon Black salt
Tips
Adjust the sweetness according to your preference by adding more or less jaggery/sugar.
For a tangier taste, increase the amount of Kokam pulp.
Kokam Sherbet can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. Shake well before serving if it separates.
Directions
Soak the Kokam in 100 ml warm water for about 30 minutes.
Once softened, mash the Kokam with your hands to extract its pulp.
Strain the pulp using a fine sieve, collecting the Kokam concentrate in a bowl.
In a saucepan, combine the remaining water and jaggery.
Heat over medium flame until the jaggery dissolves completely, stirring occasionally.
Add the Kokam extract, roasted cumin powder, and black salt. Mix well.
Allow the mixture to simmer for 5 minutes, ensuring all flavors blend harmoniously.
Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature.
Pour the Kokam Sherbet into glasses filled with ice cubes (if desired).
Garnish with fresh mint leaves for a delightful aroma and extra freshness.
Stir well before serving.
