quarter cup Rice flour
quarter cup Ragi flour
quarter cup Jowar flour
half cup Rava
half cup Curd
1 cup Water
1 piece Onion, Chopped
4 pieces Green Chilies, Chopped
Coriander as per taste , Chopped
Salt as per taste
Tips
Adjust the spiciness by adding more or fewer green chilies according to your preference.
Ensure the batter is of pouring consistency; add water as needed.
For a variation, add grated carrots, finely chopped spinach, or grated coconut to the batter.
Directions
In a mixing bowl, combine rice flour, ragi flour, jowar flour, rava, and curd.
Gradually add water while stirring to form a smooth batter. Set aside for 3-4 hours for fermentation.
After fermentation, the batter will slightly rise. Add chopped onion, green chilies, coriander, and salt. Mix well.
Heat an appe pan and lightly grease the moulds with oil.
Spoon the batter into the moulds, filling them up to 3/4th full.
Cover and cook on low-medium heat for 2-3 minutes until the bottom side turns golden brown.
Flip the appes using a skewer or spoon and cook the other side until golden brown and crispy.
Serve hot with coconut chutney and sambar.
