Ingredients

4

half teaspoon Turmeric powder

1 teaspoon Ginger garlic paste

half teaspoon Red chili powder

quarter teaspoon Tamarind paste or kokam syrup

Salt as per taste

half cup Rava

quarter cup Rice flour

2 tbsp Oil for frying

12 pieces Prawns, cleaned and deveined

Tips

If you don't have tamarind paste or kokam syrup, you can use lemon juice for a similar tangy flavor.

For a healthier alternative, you can also grill or air fry the coated prawns instead of shallow frying them.

Directions

In a bowl, mix ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, tamarind paste (or kokam syrup), and salt. Add the cleaned and deveined prawns to the bowl. Toss the prawns until they are well-coated with the marinade. Let the prawns marinate for 30 minutes.

In a separate bowl, mix rava (semolina) and rice flour. Combine well to create the coating mixture.

Dip the marinated prawns in the rava and rice flour mixture. Ensure the prawns are evenly coated on both sides.

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a frying pan or tawa over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the coated prawns. Fry the prawns for 3-4 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy.

Remove the prawns from the pan and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Serve hot with lemon wedges and your favorite dipping sauce.
