Rice Roti! Originating from Indian cuisine, Rice Roti is a gluten-free alternative to traditional wheat roti. It's easy to make, requiring minimal ingredients and time.
Ingredients
4
1 cup Rice Flour
1 cup Water
Salt as per taste
Oil as per taste
Directions
In a saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil over medium heat.
Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat to low and gradually add 1 cup of rice flour while continuously stirring to avoid lumps.
Mix well until the rice flour is fully incorporated into the water.
Turn off the flame and cover the saucepan. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to allow the dough to set.
After 10 minutes, uncover the saucepan and knead the dough until it becomes smooth and pliable.
Divide the dough into small portions and shape them into balls.
Flatten each ball into a thin round disc to make roti.
Heat a tawa or non-stick skillet over medium heat.
Place the rolled-out roti onto the hot tawa and cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side until lightly golden brown spots appear.
Repeat the process with the remaining dough balls.
Serve hot with your favorite curry, chutney, or yogurt.
This recipe makes approximately 4 rice rotis.
Notes
Adjust the consistency of the dough as needed by adding more water or rice flour.
Ensure the tawa or skillet is adequately heated before cooking the roti to achieve the perfect texture.
