Sprouts & Oats Uttapam is a delicious and healthy twist on the traditional South Indian uttapam. This recipe combines the fiber-rich goodness of oats with the nutrient-packed power of mixed sprouts, creating a perfect breakfast or snack option. Not only is it flavorful, but it's also packed with vitamins, minerals, and protein, making it a great choice for those looking to maintain a balanced diet.
Ingredients
4
1 cup Oats
Salt as per taste
1 cup Curd
Water as per needed
1 cup Mixed sprouts
1 piece Tomato
1 piece Onion
2 pieces Green chillies
1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
1 teaspoon Chaat masala
1 tablespoon Coriander leaves
1 tablespoon Mint leaves
1 teaspoon Lemon juice
Tips
Feel free to adjust the amount of green chillies and red chilli powder according to your spice preference.
Directions
Grind the oats in a grinder until you get a fine powder. Transfer this to a mixing bowl.
Add salt and curd to the oat powder. Mix well.
Gradually add water to the mixture to achieve a semi-thick batter consistency.
Let the batter rest for 15 minutes.
In a separate bowl, combine the mixed sprouts, chopped tomatoes, onions, green chillies, red chilli powder, chaat masala, salt, chopped coriander leaves, chopped mint leaves, and lemon juice. Mix well.
After the batter has rested, check the consistency and add more water if needed.
Heat a pan over medium heat. Add a spoonful of batter to the pan to form a small uttapam.
Top the batter with the sprouts and veggie mixture, pressing it gently into the batter.
Drizzle a little oil around the edges and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Repeat with the remaining batter.
Serve the hot Chatpata Sprouts & Oats Uttapam with your choice of coconut chutney or green chutney.
Notes
Individuals with oat allergies should avoid this recipe.
Those with digestive disorders may need to consume sprouts cautiously as they can cause gas or bloating.
