Sweet and Spicy Raw Mango Chutney is a deliciously vibrant condiment that adds a burst of flavor to any meal. 1 cup Raw mango, peeled and diced
half cup Jaggery, grated
2 tbsp Green Chilies
1 tablespoon Ginger, grated
1 tablespoon Mustard seeds
1 tablespoon Salt
half teaspoon Turmeric powder
half teaspoon Cumin powder
half teaspoon Black pepper powder
half teaspoon Asafoetida
1 tablespoon Water
Tips
Adjust the number of green chilies according to your spice tolerance.
Store the chutney in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
This chutney pairs well with rice, roti, or as a spread for sandwiches.
Directions
Prepare Ingredients: Peel and dice the raw mangoes. Grate the jaggery, and finely chop the green chilies and ginger.
Cook Mustard Seeds: In a pan, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
Add Mangoes: Add the diced raw mango to the pan and stir well. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until slightly softened.
Mix Spices: Add salt, turmeric powder, cumin powder, black pepper powder, and asafoetida. Stir to combine.
Add Jaggery: Mix in the grated jaggery and a tablespoon of water. Cook for another 5-6 minutes until the chutney thickens and the jaggery dissolves completely.
Cool and Serve: Remove from heat and let the chutney cool. Serve as a condiment with your meals.
Notes
Individuals with diabetes should moderate jaggery intake.
Those with allergies to any of the ingredients should avoid it.
